Summary: Wrongly-convicted ex-con Jesse Banks Rhodes and old farmer Ben Alexander become friends in 1940s Georgia. Jesse is given a chance by Ben, who rents him a place to live. But when a murder occurs, Jesse is forced to prove his innocence.
