Summary: An honest sheriff stands up to a wealthy, despotic rancher (the magnificently sinister Welles) when one of the rancher's laborers is brutally murdered on the job. While the rest of the town stays mum, afraid to take sides, the sheriff delves deeper into the mystery--and it may cost him his own life.
