Summary: A stunning version of the tale that includes witches, dragons and sea monsters, this film introduced Fantascope's special effects photography that enabled animated puppets to add dimension and be combined with live action for the first time. An outstanding children's fantasy from the era that also brought the best work of Ray Harryhausen, the special effects master whose influence is evident here.
